Crystal Palace finds Chelsea youngster as Marc Guehi's replacement
Acheampong, 19, has come up through the ranks at the Blues and scored one goal in 31 games across all competitions for the senior team. That lone strike has come in 17 matches across all competitions this season.
Contracted to Stamford Bridge till 2029, Acheampong could be on the move to Palace this transfer window, as per Sky Sports. However, whether the teenager goes out on loan or permanently remains to be seen as the Blues are struggling with injuries in their backline.
Under the new boss Liam Rosenoir, who took over from Enzo Maresca this month, Acheampong has started two domestic cup games (FA Cup third round, EFL Cup semi-final first leg) and came off the bench in 2-0 win against Brentford last weekend in the Premier League.
Marc Guehi opens up on Manchester City arrival
Former Chelsea defender Marc Guehi is very excited to start for Manchester City, who scooped him up this winter on a £20 million deal this week, with his Crystal Palace deal set to have run out at the end of the season.
Guehi, who appeared in just two senior games for Chelsea, played nearly 200 games for Crystal Palace across all competitions in four and a half seasons, producing 11 goals and eight assists.
"I am really happy and incredibly proud to be a Manchester City player," Guehi said (as per Sky Sports). "This move feels like the culmination of all the hard work I have put into my career.
"I am now at the best club in England and part of an unbelievable squad of players. It feels good to be able to say that. I want to grow as a player and a person, and I know at this club that's going to happen."
The former Chelsea player could make his City debut in the Premier League home game against Wolves on Saturday, January 24.
