Mumbai City FC displayed their ace game by sealing a spot in the Durand Cup quarterfinals, registering a convincing 4-0 triumph over Indian Navy FT on Saturday, August 19.

Led by goals from the formidable lineup of Jorge Pereyra Diaz, Greg Stewart, Gurkirat Singh, and Nathan Asher Rodrigues, Mumbai City concluded the group stage with an impeccable tally of nine points from their three outings.

Right from the outset, Mumbai City FC showcased their aggressive intent. The frontline relentlessly put the Indian Navy's defense under pressure, orchestrating numerous chances and demonstrating their dominance.

It took 34 minutes for the Navy's defense to capitulate. A pinpoint pass from Bipin Singh from the left flank found its way to Pereyra Diaz, who effortlessly tapped the ball into the net, marking Mumbai's first goal.

The second goal was netted in the 62nd minute, a result of a collaboration between Lallinzuala Chhangte and Greg Stewart. Chhangte's precise cross from the right set up Stewart for a well-placed header, further establishing Mumbai's lead.

The onslaught continued as Gurkirat Singh, leveraging a brilliant assist from Stewart, confidently maneuvered past the Navy's goalkeeper, recording his maiden goal for the tournament and pushing Mumbai's lead to a comfortable 3-0.

The finale came in the injury time's sixth minute, where Nathan Asher Rodrigues seized the opportunity from a disordered corner. Capitalizing on a mismanaged ball inside the box, Rodrigues secured Mumbai's fourth goal, wrapping up a match that clearly underscored Mumbai City FC's supremacy on the field.
