Jude Bellingham was left in tears as the Real Madrid star was forced off with what appeared to be a hamstring injury on Sunday. The crying footage was captured on the camera and has been creating some serious concerns amid the club’s struggling form.
The 15-time UCL Champions cannot take the risk of losing the midfielder as an important player of the squad. The 22-year-old looked in agony as he pulled up holding the back of his left leg. The injury came just eight minutes into Real Madrid’s clash against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Is Jude Bellingham seriously injured as Real Madrid star leaves pitch in tears?
Not just for Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, but his injury is also a headache to England international head coach Thomas Tuchel. Bellingham underwent several scans after the match to assess the severity of the injury. According to the club statement:
“Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left leg. Awaiting evolution.”
The English star was attempting to chase down a loose ball before suffering the injury. He was heard screaming in pain while the teammates surrounded him to console him. Bellingham was seen breaking down in tears as he covered his face with his shirt and left the pitch.
Following this, the former Borussia Dortmund player was replaced by Brahim Díaz. Amid the title race, as Real Madrid closely follows arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the La Liga standings, Bellingham’s injury raises serious doubt over his fitness ahead of the World Cup, which kicks off on June 17.
