Toney spoke with ESPN regarding his future plans, talking on a possible comeback to the English Premier League after his stint in Saudi Arabia. The striker claimed that he has not given up on a return to England and hopes to have a big success in Saudi Arabia before going back.
"I never say never. I've goals I want to achieve here first, but in football, in life, you never know what's around the corner. You just take it day-by-day, step-by-step. Hopefully I can achieve something big here first and who knows what the next step is?", he said.

Ivan Toney has fared well since joining Al-Ahli and is fighting for a place in the England squad for the World Cup late this year. The 29-year-old striker has scored 20 goals this season in the Saudi Pro League, two more than Cristiano Ronaldo, to top the goalscoring charts in the oil-rich nation.

Toney played a big role in Al-Ahli's AFC Champions League triumph in 2025, scoring in the semifinal win against Al-Hilal. Cristiano Ronaldo and his Al-Nassr teammates fell at the same stage before going on to lose the Saudi Super Cup to Al-Ahli last summer.
Cult hero status with Brentford
Before playing in Saudi Arabia, Ivan Toney represented Brentford, where he earned a cult hero status. He was with the England squad that finished second behind Spain in Euro 2024.
