Manchester United ace Matheus Cunha has declined claims from Luke Shaw that they are best friends, pointing to Harry Maguire as his best friend at the club. The Brazil international has settled very well into life at Old Trafford, having joined the side in a big-money move from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.

Cunha was the subject of attention from the club's media as they captured his day at their Carrington training complex, with cameras following him around. In one of the first scenes, the 26-year-old saw Shaw laughing at him and made a comment about the Englishman not being his best friend at the club. He pointed to Maguire as his best friend, explaining the reason behind his choice.
“And this guy, tells me he’s my best friend. Imagine. This is my real best friend H [Harry Maguire]. Always treats me like, regular… honest", he said (via United in Focus).
Matheus Cunha caught the attention of the Red Devils after a great season with Wolves in the 2024-25 season, in which he scored 17 goals in 36 outings. He joined them for a fee of over £60 million and has become a regular for Ruben Amorim's side.
Manchester United star wins Premier League award for October
Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo has won the Player of the Month award for October in the Premier League. The Cameroon international beat competition from seven other players to with award for the first time in his career in England.
Mbeumo was nominated for the Player of the Month award after a great October which saw him score once against Liverpool and twice against Brighton. He also produced an assist in the win against Sunderland to finish the month with three goals and an assist in only three games.
The 26-year old beat the likes of Erlig Haaland (Manchester City), Eli Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Jurrien Timber (Arsenal), Matty Cash (Aston Villa), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland), and Igor Thiago (Brentford) to clinch the award, a fitting honour after he helped them register consecutive wins for the first time under Ruben Amorim.
