The fourth edition of the UEFA Nations League 2024-25 will start from Thursday, 5th September as Azerbaijan will take on Sweden in a League C match. The match will be telecasted live in India at 9:30 PM IST.

 

Defending champions and the winners of UEFA Euro 2024, Spain alongside the winners of the 2018-19 UEFA Nations League Portugal will be in action on the 6th of September, Friday as they will take on Serbia and Croatia. The winners of the 2020-21 edition, France will be up against Italy on Friday, 6th September.

 

Segregation of the groups

 

The latest edition of the tournament will have a total of 54 teams. They are divided into four leagues which are based on their international rankings. A, B and C are the three leagues that will have four teams in four different groups. Only League D will have two groups that have three teams in them.

 

Every team will play two games with the other teams in their group and it will be on a home and away basis.

 

The top teams in League A will be competing in a knockout tournament that will determine the UEFA Nations League champion that will take place in June 2025. The four group winners and runners-up will face off in two-legged quarterfinals, with the victors advancing to the semifinals.

 

Meanwhile, B, C and D leagues will compete against each other which will determine their promotion or relegation to a higher or lower league.
