Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and striker Erling Haaland have paid warm public tributes to Mohamed Salah as the Liverpool forward prepares to leave Anfield at the end of the season. Salah will bring the curtain down on his iconic Liverpool career later this month, and tributes have poured in as he is expected to be fit to face Brentford on the final day of the season.

In a Sky Sports clip shared widely on social media, both men praised the Egyptian's goalscoring prowess, consistency, and the fierce rivalry he helped fuel with City over recent years.

Haaland described competing against Salah as "amazing" despite the frustration of goals conceded. He said:

“To compete with him have been amazing and I’m lucky to have his shirt at home.”

Guardiola called him and teammates like Salah and Andy Robertson worthy of "huge respect" for their enduring quality. The Man City boss said:

“He was a headache. Salah, Robertson, all these players deserve my huge respect.”

Guardiola, who has faced Salah in numerous high-stakes Premier League and cup clashes, noted the attacking threat posed by Liverpool's spacing and delivery during their intense title battles. The comments come as Salah, whose contract expires this summer, confirms his departure from Liverpool after a transformative spell that saw him become one of the Premier League's all-time greats.
