After their violent and unjustifiable actions in the EURO 2020 final against Italian fans, England have been ordered to play their next two games without fans in the stadium. Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has issued a statement after their investigation regarding the chaos in Wembley stadium on July 11, 2021. UEFA has also fined the England FA an amount of 100,000 Euros. After two days of the chaos, an investigation was opened by UEFA highlighting all the disturbances that occurred on the night of the final. Things got worse when Italy won the final on penalty shootout and Italian fans became victims of the ruckus behaviour of English fans.

We condemn the terrible behaviour
“Although we are disappointed with the verdict, we acknowledged the outcome of this UEFA decision. We condemn the terrible behaviour of the individuals who caused the disgraceful scenes in and around Wembley Stadium at the Euro 2020 final, and we deeply regret that some of them were able to enter the stadium,” UEFA said in a statement.

“We are determined that this can never be repeated, so we have commissioned an independent review, led by Baroness Casey, to report on the circumstances involved. We continue to work with the relevant authorities in support of their efforts to take action against those responsible and hold them to account,” the governing council stated.
