India's last hope left in the archery event of the ongoing edition of the Paris Olympics 2024 is Deepika Kumari. All other Indian male and female archers are now out of the medal race. In which Bhajan Kaur's name has also been added. Bhajan had to be eliminated in the round of 16 in a tough match by 6-5 against Indonesia's Diananda Choirunisa and this put an end to her journey.
Bhajan Kaur's medal dream ends
Bhajan Kaur had gone till the quarterfinals with the women's team. But could not go beyond that. After this, in the individual archery event, Bhajan Kaur and Diyananda Choirunisa of Indonesia won two sets each and it ended in a tie. In this way, after the set round ended at 5-5, the shoot-off took place. In which Indonesia's Choirunisa scored 9 but Bhajan was out by one point as she could only hit 8.

Deepika two wins away from medal
In the other women's individual event, Deepika Kumari made a splash and made it to the quarterfinals by registering a 6-4 win against Germany's Michelle Koppen. Now if Deepika Kumari wins the semi-finals after the quarterfinals, then her medal can be assured. Otherwise, if she goes beyond the quarterfinals and loses in the semi-finals, then the bronze medal match will also be played. Deepika will now face Nam Shuyan of Korea in the quarterfinals. All the matches of Deepika including the quarter-final and medal round will be played this evening only.
