Just 19 days after announcing their separation, Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal and her husband took a U-turn and shared a hopeful update with her fans on Instagram. The Olympic medallist posted a picture with her husband Parupalli Kashyap, with a stunning backdrop of the sea and mountains. In the caption, the 35-year-old athlete revealed that the couple is "trying again" to reconcile and make their marriage work.

“Sometimes distance teaches you the value of presence. Here we are—trying again," Nehwal and Kashyap's Instagram post read.

Indian badminton star Saina Nehwal surprised many when she announced her separation from her husband last month, , Parupalli Kashyap. The couple had been together for more than six years, having tied the knot in 2018.

“Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing for ourselves and each other. I am grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time," Nehwal had earlier wrote on a post on Instagram.

Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap both began their journeys at the Pullela Gopichand academy in Hyderabad. Nehwal is widely regarded as a trailblazer for Indian badminton. Her impressive career includes winning a bronze medal at the Olympics and achieving the world number one ranking. She also received the Arjuna Award in 2009 and the Khel Ratna Award in 2010, and she remains the only Indian female shuttler to have held the top spot in the world rankings.

Kashyap's own career highlights include winning a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, a victory that made him a household name in India. He had previously won a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In addition, Kashyap holds the distinction of being the first Indian male shuttler to reach the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games, a feat he accomplished at the 2012 London Olympics.
