India's two-time Olympics medallist, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the Diamond League 2025 final in Zurich, Switzerland which is scheduled to take place on August 27 and 28. The defending champion as qualified for the final despite missing the Diamond League meet in Selesia, Poland, on August 16.
In Chopra’s absence, Kenya's Julius Yego won at Silesia meet with an 83.60 metre throw. He was followed by Trinbago's Keshorn Walcott (82.54m) and Moldova's Andrian Mardare (82.38m).
With final spot confirmed, it is unclear whether Chopra will participate in the Brussels meet on August 22. So far, three finalists out of six have been confirmed. Walcott is at top with 17 points. Apart from Chopra, Germany's Julian Weber has 15 points to confirm his spot in the final.

Others in contention for the top six sports are Granada's Anderson Peters (13 points), followed by Yego (11 points), Mardare (8 points), Brazil's Luiz Mauricio Da Silva (6 points) and Poland's Dawid Wegner (5 points). The Zurich leg will confirm the other three spots remaining to be filled.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has been knocked out of the race as he didn’t participate in the Silesia meet. He is yet to register points in the ongoing Diamond League season. He hasn't participated since his surgery in the UK.
Neeraj’s season so far, what’s next?
Earlier this season in May, Chopra broke the 90 metre barrier with a 90.23 metre throw but still finished second below Weber. He won the Paris leg with an 88.16m throw in June.
Following the Paris leg, Neeraj also won the inaugural edition of NC Classic on July 5 with an 86.18m throw. After the final in Zurich, he will look to defend his World Championships title in Tokyo next month.
