Story Highlights:

Joe Rogan is a prominent UFC commentator.

Joe Rogan is the host of one of the most popular podcasts on the internet.

Lionel Messi is the leading goal scorer of both La Liga and FC Barcelona.

Away from the usual talks about MMA, in which he carries professional expertise, the famed UFC commentator took into account Football or what he and the Americans call, Soccer, for a change and paid heed to the game's finest ever player (arguably). Rogan's first impressions of Lionel Messi revealed.

Joe Rogan's First Reaction After Witnessing Lionel Messi

Joe Rogan, who hosts the most famous podcast in the world, The Joe Rogan Experience, once talked about Lionel Messi on his platform with the special guest Tom Segura on JRE episode #885. Watching the video of the Argentine, the 57-year-old could not even recall his name, “What’s that little dudes name?” but saved the day by attributing Lionel Messi as the "Technical Wizard." He further said, “That guy… moves like a wizard. What he is able to do with that is just f*****g astounding. You have to be so much better than people to do something like that.”

And despite having a moderate knowledge about the sport, the UFC commentator once dubbed soccer as the most “difficult sport” while talking to Bret Weinstein on JRE episode #1919.

"Soccer is particularly a difficult sport in terms of your cardiovascular function,” Rogan explained.

“Those guys are in f******g insane shape because you have to be. The amount of strain they’re sprinting.

"Austin has a soccer league, and I went to see it live. These guys have thoroughbred legs. They are in insane shape.

"As a person who works out, watching the demand that's required to the body, to be able to perform that way, sprinting constantly... I was really impressed."

Joe Rogan has been exceptional behind the mic for the UFC and calls the MMA action like no other. However, since he has a decent knowledge of sports across verticals, fans who follow both MMA and Football can imagine how intriguing would be if Joe Rogan commented on the footballing action.
