Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Alcaraz’s former coach, has revealed he would return to guide the world No. 1 if asked, expressing deep personal attachment despite their December 2025 split. The two had called off their partnership ahead of the new calendar year, and the former coach has hinted at a potential reunion.

In a recent Spanish television interview, the 2003 Roland Garros champion admitted that he could not say no to Alcaraz, signaling the door remains open for a potential reunion. He said:

“Deep down in my heart, I couldn’t say no to him.”

The pair achieved extraordinary success together, winning four Grand Slam titles and 24 ATP trophies over seven years before parting due to differences in training approach and direction. Alcaraz continues his strong 2026 campaign undefeated so far, raising speculation about whether a call to Ferrero could come at any moment.

Meanwhile, the Spanish tennis sensation, following the split, somehow did not miss a beat, starting the season 12-0. The year also included him winning his seventh Grand Slam title at the Australian Open defeatimng Novak Djokovic. He is currently playing at the Indian Wells Masters, where he is a two-time champion.
