In the ongoing ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in UAE, West Indies defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets due to the havoc bowling of Karishma Ramharaik (4 wickets) and then the brilliant batting of captain Healy Mathews (34). Bangladesh team could score only 103 runs while playing first.

In response, West Indies ended the match in the 13th over itself and registered a resounding victory by eight wickets with 43 balls remaining. Due to this the West Indies team has now come on top in Group B with four points with two wins in three matches with an excellent net run rate of 1.708. The top two teams in Group B will qualify for the semi-finals.

Bangladesh gets all out on 103

Bangladesh women's team, who came to bat first in the Sharjah ground, did not have a good start and by the score of 33 runs they lost two wickets. But after this, as soon as Sobhana Mostary was out after scoring 39 runs in 44 balls with four fours, Bangladesh's batting fell apart like a house of cards.

Bangladesh got the third blow at the score of 73 runs and within no time their six wickets fell within 30 runs. Due to this Bangladesh team could score only 103 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. For West Indies, off-break spinner Karishma Ramharack took the maximum of four wickets.

Windies register win with 43 balls remaining

For West Indies, who were chasing the target of 104 runs, captain Hayley Mathews played a strong inning of 34 runs with six fours in 22 balls in the opening. Whereas apart from them, Stafanie Taylor scored 27 runs in 29 balls with three fours. Due to this West Indies registered an easy victory by scoring 104 runs for two wickets in just 12.5 overs.
