Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a hard-fought win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their IPL 2026 game on Sunday, May 10 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur.

Rajat Patidar's honest admission after win over Mumbai Indians  

After the game, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar was not happy with the fashion of the victory, as the Bengaluru-based side boasts a solid and destructive batting line-up with the likes of Virat Kohli, Tim David, Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma.

At the post-game ceremony, Patidar expressed his disappointment saying RCB did not deserve to win the game. According to him, RCB have a pretty solid batting line-up and a target like 167 could have been chased with ease.

"I don’t think we deserved to win the match because with our batting lineup, we should be chasing this target easily," said Patidar.

 

 

Rajat Patidar praises Krunal Pandya's sublime knock

However, Patidar left no chance to appreciate Krunal Pandya, who battled cramps while scoring a sublime 73 off 46 to help RCB cross the finish line.

"I think it’s normal now, but it was a very tight match. Overall, I think it was a great game and especially KP (Krunal Pandya). I think he’s the man who’s done it for the team," added Rajat Patidar.

 

 

RCB's solid performance in IPL 2026

It will be interesting to see if RCB could manage to continue their winning form in the latter stages of the tournament, as playoffs are just around the corner. With the win over MI, RCB reached the top of the table with 14 points in hand after playing 11 matches (Seven wins and four losses) at a net run rate of +1.103.

RCB will lock horns against Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their upcoming IPL 2026 clash on Wednesday, May 13 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur. On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane and Co. are coming after four consecutive victories.
