Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a comfortable seven-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their IPL 2026 clash which took place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. With Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler scoring superb half-centuries in a 165 run-chase.

winning the toss, Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper Shubman Gill opted to bowl first. Asked to bat, LSG got off to their best powerplay start of IPL 2026, scoring 60/2 inside the first six overs with a strong cameo from Aiden Markram's 30 runs off 21 deliveries. However, LSG lost the momentum in the middle overs as GT's Prasidh Krishna exposed the lineup with an exceptional spell of 4/28, banking on the bounce to dismiss Markram, Ayush Badoni (9), and Nicholas Pooran (19 off 21).

Gujarat Titans' strong batting display in second innings

After the end of first innings, LSG posted a total of 164/8 on the board for Gujarat Titans. In the second innings, Sai Sudharsan was removed early by Avesh Khan after scoring 15 runs off 14 balls. Coming at No.3, Jos Butler took control of the innings with Shubman Gill from the other end.

Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler's strong partnership

Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia finished the game for Gujarat Titans scoring 21 runs off 13 balls and 10 runs off eight deliveries respectively with eight balls to spare. With this comfortable win, GT climbed to fifth position in the points table with two victories from four matches, with a net run rate of -0.029.

The Shubman Gill-led side will face Ajinkya Rahane's Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday, April 17. The clash will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
