On Friday, 18th October, Major League Baseball (MLB) legend Steve Sax spoke about his former team Los Angeles Dodgers and Shohei Ohtai's season so far. According to the former Dodgers second baseman, this is the best version of the LA Dodgers that he has ever seen.

What did Steve Sax say about his former team?

Winning titles with Dodgers is something Steve Sax is familiar with as he played in MLB for 13 long years. He featured for four clubs such as Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics.

He won two World Series titles with LA Dodgers. Apart from that, he has 5 All-Star nods, NL Rookie of the Year Award and a Silver Slugger Award. While speaking to ASM 570 LA Sports, Sax spoke highly of the Dodgers and thinks they are strong contenders to win the World Series in 2024.

"I'm not surprised that the Dodgers are beating them (Mets) down. Man, this is a good team. This might be the best Dodger team I've ever seen. I mean it. Think about it, look at all aspects, pitching, defense, power, panache, they've got all of it on this team," Sax said.

"The best thing that the team has is its unity, and the team is really, really hungry in its raw sense. The team wants to win, really bad," Sax added.

Los Angeles Dodgers inch closer to World Series title

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 10-2 in the fourth game of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) AT Citi Field. With this win, the Dodgers find themselves on the cups of making it to the World Series for the first time since 2020. It was the same year they last lifted the title.

After struggling against the San Diego Padres in his first postseason game, Shohei Ohtani didn't disappoint and joined the party. The Japanese International hit two home runs and gave his team a perfect start.

Ohtani wasn't the only one who had a great outing with the bat. Mookie Betts registered four RBI and a home run, and Tommy Edman had three RBI and one each for Enrique Hernandez and Will Smith.
