Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler has provided a candid update on his recovery journey, nearly two months after being sidelined with a serious knee injury.
The veteran star, who last featured on January 19 against the Miami Heat, has been working behind the scenes following a season-ending ACL tear.
Long road to recovery begins
Butler underwent surgery in February and has since been focused on rehabilitation, aiming to make a return next season. While there is no confirmed timeline for his comeback, the six-time All-Star remains committed to the recovery process.
Speaking to reporters, Butler acknowledged the emotional and physical toll of being away from the game.
“Tough,” Butler said. “Not being around my guys [is] hard. Not being able to play the game that I love and not being able to travel. Tough.
But the rehab has been going. We’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing to try to get back on the timeline.”
Positive step forward in recovery
Despite the challenges, Jimmy Butler recently reached a significant milestone in his rehab. The 36-year-old revealed that he has now been cleared to travel, allowing him to rejoin the Golden State Warriors during their ongoing road trip.
“I finally got to fly,” he said. “So, I think, I don’t know, blood clot, blood thinner, all that good stuff. I got to fly, so I was like, I gotta go be around my guys. I don’t give a damn where it’s at. If I could be there, I wanted to be here.”
His return to the team environment marks an important mental boost as he continues to navigate the lengthy rehabilitation process.
Warriors star focused on comeback
While Butler’s absence has been felt on the court, his presence around the team signals progress in his recovery. The five-time All-NBA forward remains determined to return stronger, even as he faces an uncertain timeline.
For now, Jimmy Butler’s focus remains firmly on recovery, with each milestone bringing him closer to stepping back onto the court.
