Story Highlights:

CP3 remains undecided on retirement, insisting his love for the game continues to drive him despite ongoing uncertainty.

The LA Clippers face a tricky decision as Chris Paul remains under contract with limited trade interest ahead of the deadline.

When Chris Paul announced his comeback to the LA Clippers in July, it appeared to be the perfect choice. However, that decision never materialized as Paul was let go by the franchise in December, bringing a shocking end to his supposed final season.

Chris Paul remains focused

Although the guard has remained tight-lipped on his NBA future since, CP3 finally broke his silence during an episode of "Good Sports" on Tuesday.

"I’m working out, training every day,” Paul expressed.

An admirable player throughout his career, Paul faces a tough reality as his NBA career nears its end. However, he rejected the thought of it on such a somber note.

"With the way all that stuff went down," Paul continued. "I think for me, I just love this game so much that I don’t want it to end like that. I’ve enjoyed the time for sure, but I don’t know yet. I don’t know what team I hope to finish with."

While his remarks did not provide a solid answer regarding his future, it looks Paul remains interested in rethinking his retirement plans.

Tricky case of Chris Paul

After announcing this season would be his final one in November, CP3 was thrust out of the Clippers team following 16 games. While he stays contracted to the team, there have been no signs of him being moved by Los Angeles as the trade deadlines closes in.

With Paul professing his wish to be close to his family while making the move back to the Clippers, it seems he may have to make the tough decision of hitting the road if he is to end his NBA career on his own terms.

Starting all 82 games for the Spurs last season, CP3's ability to play is not a doubt. However he stays in contract with the Clippers, who will need to find an ideal deal for him in return.

Chris Paul's future remains uncertain as the deadline draws near

Chris Paul has been out of the LA Clippers team since early December, but on paper, he remains a Los Angeles player. Penning a one-year contract worth $3.6 million contract in July, Paul has yet to be moved off the Clippers' books.

With Los Angeles now allowed to trade him, they could look to move him to another side. However, with the guard now in his 40s, not many teams will be aiming to be looking to take on his salary.

This leaves CP3 in a limbo, as while the Clippers can waive him, his salary, which LA is clearly trying to avoid.

With that in mind, both the team and Paul have less than a month to come up with a plan. Otherwise, he may have already participated in his final game in the NBA.
