Lakers won the match with the scoreline of 118-108.

The Los Angeles Lakers won their third game in a row on Saturday night, defeating the visiting Golden State Warriors at Staples Center to improve to 25-18 on the season. It was a one-point game at halftime, but LeBron James drove the Lakers down the stretch in the next two quarters, helped by Steph Curry's utter lack of shot-making.

LeBron James' Hilarious Response When Asked About How The Lakers Stopped Steph Curry

Curry was scoreless in the second half after scoring 13 in the first, going 0 for 8 from the field as the Dubs lost by 10 points. When asked after the game how Los Angeles' defense stifled the league's most dangerous shooter, James summed up the team's comically basic approach, which surely resonates with the rest of the NBA.

"Just hope that he missed," James said while laughing and giving a hapless shrug. "It's Steph, man."

Golden State Warriors in Deep Pit

While the Lakers have somewhat picked up the momentum, the Golden State Warriors are still enduring inconsistency and struggling to get the wins under their bag.

While Curry has been dealing with some nagging injuries, including a right thumb issue, he wasn’t in the business of making excuses after the game.

“It sucks, but it’s not an excuse for anything,” Curry said, per The Athletic’s Anthony Slater. “Gotta play through it. I went 8-for-8 with it. It’s just something that’s been lingering.”

This season, the Warriors have struggled with inconsistency. Golden State has struggled to win consistently after their 12-3 start. The club has not won three games in a row since mid-November and is frequently losing games.

The Warriors were riding high coming into Saturday’s game, having destroyed the Chicago Bulls 131-106 behind a historic performance by the bench. The bench delivered again vs. the Lakers, but it wasn’t enough to make up for Curry’s rough night.

As the trade deadline nears its end, the burning question is will the Warriors upgrade its squad or not. The Dennis Schroder trade hasn't reaped the ideal results. The situation has left the fans frustrated as it is visible that Curry needs support to help the team stay afloat.
