Board of Control for Cricket in India announced India’s squads for the upcoming Afghanistan Tour of India 2026 on May 19 under the captaincy of Shubman Gill in both formats. The series will feature one Test and three ODIs, with selectors introducing several fresh faces into the national setup.
Four uncapped players have earned maiden call-ups for the Afghanistan series, including Punjab pacer Gurnoor Brar, Rajasthan spinner Manav Suthar, Vidarbha all-rounder Harsh Dubey and Delhi fast bowler Prince Yadav.
Among them, Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey have been selected in both the ODI and Test squads. Manav Suthar has been picked only for the Test side, while Prince Yadav has received a maiden ODI call-up.

Who is Manav Suthar?
23-year-old Manav Suthar has emerged as one of the most consistent left-arm spinners in domestic cricket. In 29 First-Class matches, he has taken 129 wickets at an average of 25.76.
Apart from his bowling performances, Suthar has also contributed with the bat, scoring 945 runs, including one century and six half-centuries. He has previously represented India Under-19 and India A teams and is viewed by many as a long-term backup option for Ravindra Jadeja in red-ball cricket.
Who is Harsh Dubey?
Harsh Dubey was the leading wicket-taker in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. The left-arm spin bowling all-rounder from Vidarbha has picked up 133 wickets in 27 First-Class matches at an average of 23.26.
Dubey has also impressed with the bat, scoring 1026 runs with nine half-centuries in domestic cricket.
Who is Prince Yadav?
Delhi pacer Prince Yadav earned his ODI call-up following impressive performances in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and recent IPL outings. In List A cricket, the fast bowler has taken 29 wickets in just 14 matches.
