Nothing is going Australia's way in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Test series against India. Australia, who were already dented with the back-to-back defeats in the first two Tests, suffered another jolt ahead of third Test in Indore as veterans like Pat Cummins and David Warner will miss out the all-important third Test. It won't be easy for the visitors to stage a comeback after 0-2 hammering without the services of their star players. They will be missing Cummins and Warner, who have been forced to leave for Australia due to a family emergency and injury issues respectively.
Meanwhile, Australia's star batter Peter Handscomb believes the team can deal with the absence of Cummins and Warner in the third Test. He said that the visitors have enough information to cope without them in the remaining Test matches against India.
Ahead of the third Test match which will be played at the Holkar Stadium from March 1, Handscomb said,"They're two world-class players and Pat's our captain as well, so it's definitely going to make it tougher... It's going to be a big loss not having those two. But we've got all the information we need... We've got the training and the facilities that we need to be ready to go for Indore and Ahmedabad."
In the absence of Cummins and Warner, Mitchell Starc and Cameron Green are expected to feature in the third Test.
"Starc is coming back from injury and Green is coming back from injury. We've got a couple of big ins potentially, so there's that exciting part as well," the right hander said.
Australia suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of India in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series to trail the four-match Test series 0-2. The visitors lost the first match by an innings and 132 runs and then followed it up with six wicket hammering in Delhi Test. India wrapped up both the matches within three days to dent Australia's confidence.
