With his two wickets against Bangladesh in the fourth innings, Ravichandran Ashwin takes the lead in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 cycle for the most wickets taken by any player. He surpasses Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood's 51-wicket record with 52. In this WTC cycle, he also becomes the first player from India to take 50 wickets.
