Subhadeep Ghosh replaces T Dilip as India's new fielding coach

In a series of breaking events, the BCCI has named Subhadeep Ghosh as India's new fielding coach after T Dilip was not offered an extension after the Men in Blue displayed some underwhelming fielding performances in the recently concluded tour of the United Kingdom.

As per Sports Tak, the decision of not offering Dilip an extension comes after the BCCI reviewed India's below par fielding performances. Notably, this change is being considered as an effort to improve fielding standards ahead of an important international season.

T Dilip's tenure comes to an end

After the completion of the ODI series against England, Dilip saw his contract expiring. He did accompany the Men in Blue in the recently concluded T20I series against Zimbabwe, where the Indian team emerged victorious. As an outcome, the BCCI deployed personnel from the Centre of Excellence. While Doeschate stepped down from the role to spend some time with his young family.

On the other hand, T Dilip's exit comes a year after receiving a contract extension. The fielding coach had recently faced a lot of criticism after India's underwhelming fielding performances in the recent assignments.

Subhadeep Ghosh's coaching career so far

Subhadeep Ghosh has cemented himself as a specialist fielding coach. Known for his technical precision and developmental focus, he spent almost ten years working with grassroots talent at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. In IPL, he served the franchises like Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
