Irfan Pathan's cryptic social media post sparks speculations.

Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan who was the part of MS Dhoni-led T20 World Cup winning team shared a cryptic social media that puzzled fans ahead of Champions Trophy 2025. Pathan's tweet came after former India captain Virat Kohli got out scoring six runs in his Ranji Trophy outing after more than a decade.

Without naming a cricketer Irfan posted that the cricketer's job is to play cricket without getting injured. He took his 'X' formerly known as Twitter to share the post.

"At the end of the day, a modern-day cricketer’s job is to play cricket year-round, managing niggles and injuries, not to train for 10 months just to play for 2 months" wrote Irfan.

Soon after Pathan's post, fans started speculating that his post was for MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. However, Sports Tak doesn't confirm anything.

Kohli is currently going through a lean patch in his career, before Ranji match the Indian batting great featured in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 where he scored an unbeaten ton in the first match in Perth but failed to get the momentum further as he just scored 190 runs in five Test matches.

After representing Delhi, Kohli will join the Rohit Sharma-led India squad for the England ODI series where the Men in Blue will play a three-match ODI series against the Three Lions. After finishing the ODI series, Team India will travel to Dubai for Champions Trophy 2025 which is scheduled to start from February 19.
