Currently, Rohit is leading Indian team in the ODI World Cup for the first team and is aiming to break 10-year-long ICC trophy drought by winning the title this year. Rohit-led Team India has won back-to-back three matches in the ongoing ODI World Cup.

Rohit Sharma's cricketing journey commenced in 2006-07, and over the years, he has solidified his reputation as one of the most flamboyant batter in the limited-overs formats. However, it is his transformation into an opening batsman that has truly set him apart from his peers.

Hafeez acknowledged that since securing his role as an opener, Rohit Sharma has exhibited a level of excellence that transcends the boundaries of home and away matches.

What makes Rohit's performance truly praiseworthy is his consistency and dominance as an opener in white-ball cricket. His remarkable ability to adapt his game to varying conditions and oppositions underscores his profound cricketing acumen. Hafeez rightly observes that Rohit Sharma's contributions to the Indian cricket team have earned him widespread acclaim, rightfully placing him among the legends of white-ball cricket.

In Hafeez's view, a genuine leader must lead by example, demonstrating a willingness to toil alongside their team members.

Rohit's approach to leadership is firmly rooted in the principle of setting the right example. He understands that in order to demand excellence from his teammates, he must first exemplify it himself. This commitment to personal performance and his readiness to lead from the front have not only earned him the respect of his peers but have also set the tone for the entire team. The age-old adage, "lead from the front," encapsulates Rohit Sharma's philosophy of captaincy and leadership.

As Hafeez eloquently put it, "See, Rohit Sharma has been a brilliant player, ever since his career started in 2006-07, he kept getting in and out but since he has taken a confirmed slot as an opener, he has proved to be a player of a different level and he has played in home and away matches. He has played everywhere like one of the great players of white ball cricket and he is praised enough."

"But see, when you come into leadership, leadership is not a zone of taking credit, it is a zone of taking responsibility. There he has shown the right leadership that I can make demands from someone only if I do it myself first."

“It is not possible that I myself play in that zone which is probably not required as per modern-day cricket and what answer will I give to the remaining ten, the remaining ten are not dumb or deaf or whatever is inside their minds cannot think that They will do whatever I say even if I am not doing it myself,” Hafeez concluded.

Talking about Rohit's captaincy, it was under his leadership Team India recently became the no.1 team in all the three formats of the game. India walked in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on a high of winning the Asia Cup 2023 title.

In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, India first defeated Australia, then Afghanistan and then followed it up with a comprehensive seven-wicket win against arch-rivals Pakistan.

On Thursday, October 19, India locked horns against Bangladesh in Pune. Batting first Bangladesh posted a total of 256/8. Rohit, who scored a blistering century against Afghanistan and then a cracking 86 versus Pakistan, will look to pull another lightning knock to lead India to their fourth consecutive victory.
