Former Indian captain MS Dhoni made a comeback to the Indian team after a gap of almost two-years and joined the Indian camp in the UAE ahead of the T20 World Cup as the mentor of the Indian cricket team. The last time Dhoni was with team India was during the 2019 World Cup in England.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) updated fans about Mahi’s arrival via social media with pictures from the team’s first practice session ahead of their warm-up game against England on October 18. Dhoni can be seen in the company of Ravi Shastri and other coaching staff members. BCCI captioned the picture, “Extending a very warm welcome to the KING @msdhoni is back with #TeamIndia and in a new role!”

Dhoni’s presence in the team will bolster their chances and will be an added advantage for Virat & Co feels Suresh Raina. Dhoni’s CSK team mate in an exclusive chat with Aaj Tak/Sports Tak said,

“The team environment is very good. MS Dhoni’s experience will benefit the Indian players in the T20 World Cup,” Raina expressed his optimism on Dhoni’s presence.

India will take on England today in their first practice game and will lock horns with Australia on Wednesday (October 20) in the second warm-up game.

India will commence their T20 World Cup campaign in a high-voltage game against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai.
