The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a significant increase in the prize money for the upcoming ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 to boost women's cricket globally. The mega event is scheduled to take place later this year in Sri Lanka and India.

Hosts India will take on Sri Lanka for the tournament opener at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on September 30 and the final of the mega event will take place on November 02. ICC Jay Shah said the decision will lead to a 297% increase from the last edition and more than the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
