Stoinis continued his attacking approach in the next over by hitting Marco Jansen over the ropes for another six. Sadly, his aggressive knock came to an end on the very next ball as he was caught. Seattle's thumping win over Washington Freedom
After being sent in to bat, the Seattle Orcas came back from a cautious start thanks to a breathtaking innings from Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 79 off just 33 balls. His astonishing knock consisted of nine sixes and two fours, shifted the momentum firmly in Seattle's favour and lifted the team to a strong total.
Hetmyer found solid support from skipper Marcus Stoinis, who scored 42 of just 16 balls. Earlier, opener Tim Seifert had provided the perfect base with a rapid 37 off 20 balls, ensuring the Orcas maintained the momentum throughout the innings.
Washington Freedom's hope of chasing a big target never really took off despite Marco Jansen finishing the inning with three wickets. With Jasdeep Singh delivering a masterclass spll of 5/24 to expose the top order, Washington Freedom never got the momentum back again. Amila Aponso tried to inject some thrilling moments with a quickfire knock of 31 runs off just 13 valls, while Ian Holland scored 26 but these contributions were not enough to secure a win.
Cameron Gannon claimed two wickets to wrap up the innings as Washington Freedom were dismissed for 139 in 16.2 overs, securing a commanding 88-run win for the Seattle Orcas.
