Former India captain Virat Kohli and Australia's youngster Sam Konstas were involved in an on-field verbal spat during the first day of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. The incident happened during the 10th over when Konstas was batting alongside Usman Khawaja. Kohli and Konstas bumped shoulders while moving across the pitch.
Both players quickly turned around to glance at each other and engage in a heated exchange of words with Konstas' teammate Usman Khawaja stepping in to separate them. The on-field umpires also had a word with the two.
Konstas who made his Test debut in the ongoing fourth Test match said that Virat Kohli accidentally bumped into him.
"Virat Kohli accidentally bumped into me, that's cricket and can happen with tension," said Konstas after stumps.

ICC for Virat Kohli's altercation with Konstas
International Cricket Council (ICC) has hit legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli with a fine of 20 per cent match fee and one demerit point following his heated altercation with Australian debutant Sam Konstas on the opening day of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test which is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Coming back to the Boxing Day Test, After Australia batters dominating performance India made a comeback on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test at MCG, ending the day with Australia at 311/6. After fifties from Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, Sam Konstas, and Usman Khawaja the visitors clawed their way back into the game. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets. He picked up Travis Head on a duck.
