Djokovic extends support to Kohli with a special gesture on Pieterson's emotional social-media post

India's star batter Virat Kohli's dipping form with the willow has become the talk of the town. While some are calling for his ouster from the team, some are extending their immense support for the batting juggernaut, given his batting wizardry which he has shown over the years for the Men in Blue. The legendary English batter Kevin Pietersen also threw his weight behind the champion batter Kohli.

Pietersen took to social media to share an emotional social-media post for his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate, which immediately caught Wimbledon 2022's winner Novak Djokovic as well.

“Buddy, your career has had some of the best that have played the game only wish they could have done what you have(so far). Be proud, walk tall & enjoy life. There’s way more than just the bubble of cricket out there. You’ll be back, @virat.kohli,” wrote Pietersen on Kohli, just a day after Pakistan captain Babar Azam's encouraging tweet for the star India batter broke the internet.

Reacting to Kohli latest Instagram post, Pietersen also wrote 'You go big guy! People can only dream about what you’ve done in cricket. And they’re some of the best players that have played the game.'

While Pietersen's post received a lot of praise from cricket fans, even Djokovic extended his support for Kohli. The Serbian liked Pietersen's post and joined the list of sporting legends backing Kohli to come back to his best soon.

Virat has been under fire for his consistent low scores. He has looked a shadow of his own in recent times and has struggled against the deliveries outside off. It’s been more than two years that Virat has not scored a century and the recent failures have increased the calls for his omission from the Indian team. Recently, former India captain Kapil Dev said that if a senior player like R Ashwin can be dropped from the team, BCCI should not give any special treatment to Virat.
