Watch | 'From North a guy came...: Salman Khan reveals his favourite cricketer and he's not Virat Kohli

MS Dhoni's heroics albeit for a losing cause, once again left the fans going gaga over their cricketing legend. Dhoni propelled CSK to the brink of victory with his vintage yet throwback knock which reminded everyone of MSD from his active cricketing days. However, CSK needed 21 off the last over but could only get close to the 176-run target and thus lost the match by mere three runs. Dhoni scored a lightning 32 off 17 which also saw two big sixes in the last over that gave RR a major scare. Sandeep Sharma, however, managed to thwart Dhoni storm and won the match for his team.

Meanwhile, CSK coach Stephen Fleming dropped a bombshell on Dhoni's fitness and said that Dhoni is nursing a knee injury.

"He is nursing a knee injury, which you can see in some of his movement, which is hindering him somewhat. But still what you saw today is a great player for us. His fitness has always been very professional," Flemming said.

"He comes a month before the tournament starts, so he doesn't get the opportunity to do a lot (prior to that). He will stay fit, they will do some netting in Ranchi, but his main pre-season is done a month before when he comes to Chennai. And he works his way back into match-form and I think you can still see he's playing pretty well. So we never have any doubts about the way he manages himself and he always gets himself up to speed," the CSK coach added.

Meanwhile, the four-time champions CSK will next lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 17.
