1. In IPL 2009 final against now-defunct Deccan Chargers, RCB needed 144 to win in Johannesburg. Kohli walked out to bat at no.6. He was dismissed for seven runs by Andrew Symonds. RCB managed to post 137/9 and lost the match by six runs.

2. In IPL 2011 final, Chennai Super Kings set a daunting target of 206. In the run chase, Kohli walked out to bat in the first over as R Ashwin dismissed Chris Gayle. Kohli scored 35 runs from 32 balls before getting out lbw to Suresh Raina. RCB posted 147/8 and lost the final by 58 runs.

3. In IPL 2016 final, Sunrisers Hyderabad set a target of 209. In the run chase, captain Kohli and Chris Gayle shared a 114-run opening partnership. In the 13th over, left-arm pacer Barinder Sran got the wicket of Kohli. He scored 54 runs from 35 balls. RCB posted 200/7 and lost the match by just 8 runs.
