Jasprit Bumrah recently led India to a resounding win over Australia in Perth Test

Gujarat Titans (GT) head coach Ashish Nehra heaped immense praise on India's superstar pacer Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the IPL 2025. Nehra said that had Bumrah entered the recently-concluded IPL 2025 mega auction, even Rs 520 crore purse wouldn't have been enough to buy the services of Mumbai's pace spearhead.

Bumrah has consistently been a game-changer for the Indian cricket team. His bowling mastery have made him the spearhead of the Indian bowling attack in recent years. If we talk about his recent heroics, Bumrah played an instrumental role in India's dominant 295-run victory over Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Perth.

In the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Bumrah took up the captaincy mantle on his shoulder. His captaincy, coupled with his exceptional bowling show, played a crucial role in India's resounding win in the series opener. Despite a low team total of 150 runs, the Indian bowling attack, led by Bumrah, turned the tide and dismantled the Australian batting lineup, ultimately securing a historic victory as India became the first team to defeat Australia at the new Perth stadium.

Notably, Bumrah was retained by the Mumbai Indians (MI) for a whopping INR 18 crore just before the IPL 2025 mega auction. As the five-time IPL champions gear up for the next season, Bumrah's experience and skill will be important for their success, especially their underwhelming show in recent years. The 30-year-old has been a revelation in all formats of the game, and his performance will be pivotal to India's success in the upcoming Australian tour.

Following the IPL 2025 auction, Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra expressed his admiration for Bumrah. Nehra made a big claim and said that even a massive purse of Rs 520 crore wouldn't have been sufficient to acquire Bumrah at the auction, such is his value to any team.

If Bumrah was in the auction then...': Ashish Nehra

“As a bowler Jasprit Bumrah has done this numerous times. Rohit Sharma is not playing and you're captaining the team in the first match in the tour. Obviously there has to be an extra mount of pressure. But the way Bumrah handled the pressure it's extremely praiseworthy," Ashish Nehra told Star Sports.

“The way Bumrah led the team following the 3-0 whitewash against New Zealand on home soil it's brilliant to witness, You can't beat Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah). If Bumrah was in the auction then anything would have happened. Even a purse of 520 crore would have been not enough for the IPL teams,” he further added.
