Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 32 off 28 balls before falling down to Ravi Bishnoi

Nitish Kumar Reddy was visibly frustrated with his dismissal during the IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. His disappointment was evident after Ravi Bishnoi brought a halt to Nitish Kumar Reddy's innings.

The right-handed batter was called upon to bat much earlier than anticipated in the innings, as SRH lost two quick wickets in succession. In the third over of the game, Lucknow Super Giants' bowler Shardul Thakur struck twice, dismissing both Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan on consecutive balls, putting Sunrisers Hyderabad in an early precarious position.

Following Kishan's dismissal, Nitish Kumar Reddy stepped out to the crease. He then partnered with Travis Head, and together they managed to stabilise the SRH innings with a solid 61-run partnership before Head was eventually dismissed for a well-played 47. This was followed by another useful 34-run stand between Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen, before Klaasen was unfortunately run out for 26.

With the majority of the experienced batters already dismissed and back in the pavilion, the responsibility fell squarely on the shoulders of Nitish Reddy to anchor the innings and guide his team towards a substantial total. However, the young all-rounder's stay at the crease was cut short as he was clean bowled by Ravi Bishnoi in the 15th over of the match.

On the very first delivery of that over, LSG's leg-spinner bowled a length ball that landed on the middle stump. Nitish Kumar Reddy advanced down the pitch, attempting to loft the delivery over the boundary. Unfortunately for him, he failed to make any contact with the ball, and it continued its trajectory to crash into the stumps. Consequently, SRH batter had to make his way back to the dressing room after scoring 32 runs off 28 deliveries.

Reddy was clearly and understandably upset with himself for what he perceived as giving away his wicket and didn't hold back in expressing his frustration. The television cameras captured the moment as he walked up the stairs towards the dressing room, showing him throwing his helmet down in anger at his dismissal.

Wrapping up the first innings of the match, SRH, despite a jerky start, managed to post a competitive total of 190 runs in their stipulated 20 overs. Aniket Verma remained their top scorer as played a dazzling cameo of 36 runs. His quickfire knock came off a mere 13 deliveries and included an impressive five sixes, providing the SRH innings with some crucial momentum in the final overs. For LSG, Shardul Thakur stood out as the most successful bowler, picking up 4 wickets while conceding 34 runs.
