Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will fight for the top spot on the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 points table on May 12 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Whoever wins the clash, will dethrone Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with their eighth win of the tournament.

GT and SRH have played seven games against each other. GT have a splendid record, bagging five wins against SRH. One of the games in 2024 edition was washed out. SRH's only win against GT came in the 2022 encounter. The last time they locked horns, GT beat SRH by 38 runs at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Pat Cummins has got a good record at the venue and against GT’s Jos Buttler. His performance with the new ball will be the one to watch out for. His Australian partner will look to assert his dominance. He is one of the few SRH core players who is yet to win the ‘Player of the match’ award. Also, an in-form Jason Holder may hold the key for GT in the batsmen’s world. The hosts will need their captain Shubman Gill to lead from the front against an in-form SRH pace attack. 

Playoff Implications for GT and SRH in IPL 2026

A win for either team will get them close to the playoffs. Ideally, they would need two more wins to confirm playoffs spot.
