Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Anshul Kamboj endured another difficult outing in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans (GT).
The young fast bowler leaked 56 runs in his full quota of four overs and managed to pick up just one wicket during the high-scoring encounter. With this expensive spell, Kamboj also ended up creating an unwanted IPL record.

Anshul Kamboj tops unwanted IPL list
Kamboj’s poor outing against GT added another unwanted milestone to his difficult second half of the season.
The CSK pacer has now conceded 34 sixes in IPL 2026, the most by any bowler in a single IPL edition. He surpassed Rashid Khan’s previous record of 33 sixes conceded in IPL 2025.
Most sixes conceded in an IPL edition
34 – Anshul Kamboj (2026)
33 – Rashid Khan (2025)
31 – Mohammed Siraj (2022)
30 – Wanindu Hasaranga (2022)
30 – Yuzvendra Chahal (2024)
30 – Kagiso Rabada (2026)
Despite taking one wicket in the match, Kamboj struggled badly with his line and length as GT batters attacked him throughout the innings.
Kamboj loses rhythm as CSK campaign collapses
Kamboj had started IPL 2026 impressively and was among the few bright spots for Chennai Super Kings during the first half of the season.
The right-arm pacer delivered several impactful spells early in the tournament and looked like one of CSK’s emerging stars. However, as the franchise lost momentum in the second half of the season, Kamboj’s performances also dipped significantly.
In 14 matches so far this season, the pacer has picked up 21 wickets but has leaked runs at an expensive economy rate of 10.53.
