Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finished their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season with a disappointing note, as the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side endured a shameful 89-run loss against Shubman Gill's Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on May 21. However, it seems that Sarfaraz Khan has made a special connection with the Yellow Army despite getting limited chances in the line-up.
Sarfaraz Khan shares special post for CSK
After enduring a massive loss against GT on Thursday, Sarfaraz Khan shared a special post for the Chennai-based franchise and its loyal fanbase. The right-handed batter claimed that he experienced the best two months of his life and he will be loyal towards the Yellow Army forever.
"The best two months that’s been. My heart will bleed Yellow…thanku so much @chennaiipl thank you csk fans," wrote Sarfaraz in the caption.
How Sarfaraz Khan fared for CSK in IPL 2026?
After being signed for a base price of Rs 75 lakh, Sarafaraz Khan made eight appearances for the five-time IPL champions in the 2026 campaign. The right-handed batter managed to score 161 runs in eight outings at an average of 23.00 with an aggressive strike rate of 169.47. Sarfaraz Khan showed glimpses of his attacking nature but could not play a match-winning inning, which would have cemented his place in the lineup.

Sarfaraz Khan smashed one half-century in the tournament, where he scored 50 runs off just 25 valls against RCB. In that inning, he smashed eight boundaries and two sixes.
CSK's underwhelming campaign in IPL 2026
It is fair to say that the five-time champions endured a disastrous IPL 2026 campaign, starting the season with a hat-trick of defeats before a brief mid-season resurgence reignited hopes of a playoff berth. However, the loss against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) respectively almost diminished the chances but the defeat to GT crushed every inch of the playoff dreams.
CSK finished their season at the seventh place with 12 points in hand after playing all 14 matches (six wins and eight losses) at a net run rate of -0.345.
