Rohit Sharma added another feather in his cap during the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) second match of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Saturday (April 4) against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Opening the innings, the 38-year-old looked in good touch, scoring 35 runs off 26 balls. His knock included five boundaries and a six before he was caught by Nitish Rana off Axar Patel in the 10th over.
But before walking back, Rohit managed to break a major IPL record. With that six, he went past MS Dhoni’s tally for the most sixes hit by an Indian batter against a single team in the IPL. Dhoni has smashed 50 sixes against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, while Rohit now has 51 sixes against Delhi Capitals.
