Following another disappointing performance in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), Mumbai Indians' (MI) veteran opener Rohit Sharma engaged in a serious conversation with franchise owner Nita Ambani. The on-field intense chat between Rohit Sharma and Nita Ambani occurred right after MI's IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) got over March 31 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rohit's batting blip continued in the match against KKR where he was eventually dismissed for a paltry score of 13 runs while chasing a lowly target of 117 runs. However, Rohit's dismissal didn't hinder MI's run-chase as they ended up crushing KKR by eight wickets to record their first win in the ongoing IPL 2025.

Rohit got off to a disastrous start to the IPL 2025, where he was dismissed for a three-ball duck in MI's campaign opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His dismissal resulted in him temporarily holding the record for the most ducks in the history of the IPL, which he shared until Glenn Maxwell surpassed him in subsequent matches. Rohit's performance in the current season stands in stark contrast to his contributions in the 2024 edition of the league, where he emerged as the highest run-scorer for the Mumbai Indians.
In the 2024 season, the opening batsman amassed a total of 417 runs across 14 innings, maintaining an average of 32.07 and an impressive strike rate of 150. Notably, he also scored his second IPL century during that season, reaching the three-figure mark in a match against CSK. The 37-year-old had also experienced a dip in form during the ICC Champions Trophy but managed to recover in the final match, where he played a crucial, match-winning innings of 76 runs off 83 balls against New Zealand.
Rohit will look to find his mojo back in MI's upcoming match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which is scheduled to take place on April 4 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
