The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) head coach has given an update on Virat Kohli's injury, which he suffered during his recent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 outing against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The incident happened when Kohli tried to stop a boundary on the fifth ball of the 12th over during GT's run chase.
The ball went through his hands at deep mid-wicket as he tried to field a drive from Sai Sudharsan’s bat. After that ball, Kohli looked in discomfort and was immediately attended by the team’s physio. However, he continued fielding after receiving the treatment. After the clash, the RCB head coach Andy Flower revealed that the star batter is fine for the next clash.

“Virat looks fine, he’s okay,” said Flower in the post-match press conference.
Kohli failed to perform against GT in his third outing of IPL 2025 as he got dismissed for just 7 (6) by Arshad Khan. This is the first time in the ongoing season that the RCB star got out without crossing the forty-run mark. He got out while trying to pull the GT seamer but holed out to deep backward square leg.
After Kohli's flop show, Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt also got out in the power play. RCB, who dominated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their first two IPL outings, lost faced their first defeat of the season. After losing against GT, RCB are currently on number three in the points table tally.
RCB will now face Mumbai Indians (MI) for their fourth clash of the ongoing IPL 2025, which is scheduled to take place on April 7 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
