Axar Patel blames DC's bowling after losing against Mumbai Indians.

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel blamed the middle order's flop show and soft dismissal after the team's first defeat in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated DC by 12 runs to register their second win of the tournament.

DC, who were unbeaten in their last four outings of the IPL 2025, lost the clash against MI after their middle order collapsed against MI's bowling. Apart from Karun Nair's 89-run knock, no other batter managed to perform against MI's bowling.

"We had the game in the bag. Some soft dismissals and bad shots in the middle order. You can't leave it to the batters in the lower order everytime. Don't need to overthink, just one of those days. Was happy at the halfway stage. The ball was stopping initially but it got better. And then dew helped us further. Out of our three spinners, two can bowl in powerplay and death as well. Kuldeep is bowling unbelievably well. Need to forget this game from a batting point of view" said Axar Patel in post match presentation.

Coming back to the match, While chasing 206 runs, Karun Nair's 89-run knock went in vain as Delhi Capitals, who were looking in great momentum at 119 for one just after the halfway stage, ended on 193 in 19 overs after three run-outs and two boundaries in a single over.
