RCB defeated SRH by six wickets in IPL 2026.

SRH will now take KKR in their 2nd IPL 2026 clash.

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori gave an update on Brydon Carse after the pacer missed SRH’s IPL 2026 opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Vettori said Carse had a hand injury from the nets but is expected to be ready for their next game.

“He got hit on the hand in the nets when he was batting, on his bowling hand. It was cleared of any break, but there was quite a lot of swelling and he tried to push for the game, but it was difficult for him to hold the ball,” Vettori explained. “He has been improving, so we are hoping he is available for selection for Kolkata.”

Carse’s return could be a big boost for SRH, especially since their bowling struggled without key players.

SRH’s bowling struggles vs RCB

SRH’s bowlers came under pressure after failing to defend a total of 201 on a batting-friendly pitch. With Pat Cummins and Carse unavailable, the attack lacked firepower. The responsibility fell on David Payne, who had just joined as a replacement. Although Payne took two quick wickets, he gave away 35 runs in three overs and found it hard to stay in control.

Overall, Payne, Harshal Patel, Eshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey leaked 144 runs in 11 overs, letting RCB chase down the target easily.

Earlier, SRH had batted well, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s 80 off 38 balls and a quick contribution from Ankit Verma to reach 201 for nine. But the bowling couldn’t defend it.

Who will be out if Brydon Carse features in the KKR vs SRH clash

If Carse is fit for the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, SRH might change their playing XI, with either Payne or Malinga likely to sit out. With no word yet on Cummins’ return, the team will be hoping Carse’s comeback gives their bowling a much-needed lift early in the season. SRH's upcoming clash against KKR will take place on 2 April at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
