Former Indian cricketer Roger Binny has been appointed as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president on October 18. Binny will succeed former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly whose tenure came to an end earlier this month.
Binny is 36th BCCI president. The 67-year-old was the only candidate to file nomination for the BCCI president post.
Binny's most recent stint was as Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President. As expected, he will leave his position as president at KSCA. Earlier, Binny was a part of senior selection committee when Sandeep Patil was the chairman.

Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council representatives - Arun Singh Dhumal, Avishek Dalmiya
Binny was an integral part of India's World Cup-winning team in 1983 led by legendary Kapil Dev. The pacer took 18 wickets, the most by a bowler in the tournament. He has represented India in 27 Tests and 72 ODIs. He has taken a total of 124 international wickets.
Meanwhile, Ganguly will contest elections for the president post of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Ganguly had earlier served as CAB president as well.
