The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has dropped a big hint to Men in Blues' visit to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023.

However the decision is subject to the clearance of the government but it is surely on BCCI's agenda. As a result of the ongoing political tensions between the two countries, India has not toured Pakistan for a long time. If the tour happens it will be after 15 years that India will be touring to Pakistan.

The BCCI circulated a note on the team's plans to feature in several multilateral events for the next year to the state associations ahead of the board's Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to take place on October 18.

A BCCI note, circulated among the state associations on Thursday ahead of the October 18 Annual General Meeting (AGM), lists out India's engagements in next year's multilateral events:

Here's the list of all major ICC events in 2023:

ICC Women's T20 World Cup, South Africa
ICC Women's U-19 T20 World Cup, South Africa
Asia Cup, Pakistan
ICC Cricket World Cup, India

Pakistan are scheduled to host the 50-over Asia Cup in the second half of 2023 following which the World Cup will take place in India. And going by the AGM note, the BCCI seems to be open to travelling to Pakistan which has been a no-go area since 2008, when India had taken part in an Asia Cup.

For more than a decade, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral match. Pakistan last visited India in the 2012-13 season, when they played three ODIs and two T20s. The Indian cricket team last visited Pakistan in 2008, when the PCB hosted the Asia Cup.

The AGM scheduled to be held on October 18 could also see a change in guard, with Sourav Ganguly likely to be replaced as the BCCI president, and former 1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny reported to be the favourite to take over the top job.

Pakistan are all set to host the Asia Cup 2023, with the tournament likely to be played in the 50-overs format, in the second half of 2023, ahead of the ODI World Cup, which will be hosted in India.

Meanwhile, the arch-rivals India and Pakistan are all set to lock horns with each other in the T20 World Cup 2022 on October 23.
