England Cricket Board have announced the playing XI for the first T20I against Australia which is scheduled to start from September 10. Ashes rivals England and Australia will play a three-match T20I series followed by a five-match ODI series. The first T20I will take place in The Rose Bowl in Southampton. 

 

England have added three debutants in the playing XI of the Phil Salt-led T20I team. Jordan Cox, Jacob Bethell and Jamie Overton will make their T20I debut in the first match against Australia. Ahead of the England vs Australia T20 2024 series, the hosts have suffered a massive blow as captain Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the series due to a right calf injury.

 

Australia are currently ranked second in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings while England are placed two places lower in the fourth spot.
