ICC Rankings: Hardik Pandya storms into top 10, Mohammad Rizwan displaces Suryakuamar Yadav

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 31 (Wednesday) released the latest set of rankings and Team India's swashbuckling all-rounder Hardik Pandya gained the most after his imperious performance in the Asia Cup encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 31 (Wednesday) released the latest set of rankings and Team India's swashbuckling all-rounder Hardik Pandya gained the most after his imperious performance in the Asia Cup encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan. After his spell of 3/25 in four overs and an unbeaten knock of 33 runs in 17 balls, Hardik was rightly awarded as he stormed into the top 10 all-rounder rankings.

 

The 28-year-old jumped eight places to attain his highest-ever ranking of five in the all-rounder's category. Meanwhile, Afghanistan captain Mohammad Nabi continues to occupy the number one spot in the all-rounder's category.

 

In the top 10 batting rankings, Suryakumar Yadav slipped to the number three spot as Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan moved to second place. Babar Azam continues to consolidate his position at the top of the batting rankings.

 

In the top 10 bowling rankings, Bhuvneshwar Kumar jumped by a spot and is currently eighth in the category. The Indian pacer bowled brilliantly against Pakistan and finished with figures of 4/26 in four overs.

 

When it comes to the all-rounder's ranking in Tests, England captain Ben Stokes moved up by three positions after leading the Three Lions to a series-leveling win against South Africa in the second Test match at Manchester. With 360 rating points, the English all-rounder is now just 24 rating points away from Ravindra Jadeja, who sits at the top.
