Rahul Dravid's son Samit is set for his Under-19 debut against the mighty Australians in white-ball and red-ball cricket in the home series starting next month.

Samit Dravid has been rewarded for his performances at domestic level.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on August 31 announced India Under-19 squads for One-Day and Four-Day formats next month at home. Former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid’s son Samit has been named in squads for both formats. 
 

The One-Day series will begin on September 21 and end on September 26. All three matches will be played in Puducherry. The Four-Day series will start on September 30. The second red-ball game will commence on October 7. These two matches will be played in Chennai.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Nitya Pandya, Vihan Malhotra (VC), Soham Patwardhan (C),  Kartikeya K P, Samit Dravid, Abhigyan Kundu (WK), Harvansh Singh Pangalia (WK), Chetan Sharma, Samarth N, Aditya Rawat, Nikhil Kumar, Anmoljeet Singh, Aditya Singh, Mohd Enaan

Samit’s career so far

18-year-old Samit is currently playing for Karun Nair-led Mysuru Warriors in the Maharaja T20 Trophy 2024. In seven appearances, he has scored 82 runs at an average of 11.71. His best of 33 came against Devdutt Padikkal's Gulbarga Mystics.
 

Earlier, he helped Karnataka win their maiden Cooch Behar Trophy title. He scored 362 runs from eight matches. His best of 98 came against Jammu and Kashmir. He bagged 16 wickets as well. In the final, he took two crucial wickets against Mumbai. However, he is yet to showcase what he can do with the ball in Maharaj T20 Trophy.
