Indian wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson has finally addressed the ongoing speculation about his inconsistent opportunities in the national team. Despite delivering consistent performances in domestic cricket and the IPL, Samson has faced limited chances to showcase his talent at the international level.

Sanju Samson Opens Up on Lack of opportunities

Samson has maintained a positive outlook, choosing to focus on what he can control rather than dwelling on the situation. The talented keeper-batter has consistently impressed with his performances in domestic cricket and the IPL, showcasing his potential to excel at the highest level. However, despite his consistent contributions, Samson has been overlooked in favor of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, leading to frustration among fans and experts alike.

Sanju Samson's selection inconsistencies have been a subject of much debate. Interestingly, his opportunities in the Indian team often appear to be inversely proportional to the format being played. He tends to find a place in the T20I squad during ODI tournaments and vice versa. This pattern highlights the uncertainty surrounding his role in the team. Samson's exclusion from the ODI series against Sri Lanka further fueled criticism of the team management. Despite a remarkable century against South Africa, where he scored 108 runs off 114 balls, Samson was overlooked for the Sri Lanka series. This decision drew significant backlash from fans and experts alike.

"You scored a century in South Africa but were dropped from the ODI squad. In an ODI World Cup year, you're playing T20Is, and in a T20 World Cup year, you're playing ODIs. There's a lot of buzz on social media about this. What are your thoughts on the selection?," Samson was asked by a journalist during an interaction on Zee TV.

He emphasized his willingness to contribute whenever called upon by the team management. Focusing on his training and improvement, Samson explained his approach to the situation, by saying:

"When they call me to play, I go and play. If not, it's okay. I don't overthink it. The team is doing well, so there's no issue. I prefer to stay positive and focus on what I can control. I put maximum effort into my practice and hard work, which is improving my game."

Samson further elaborated on his career aspirations, expressing his desire to progress and improve his game. He stated:

"I want my career to move forward, so I concentrate on improving my game and focusing on what's within my control."
