Thailand Police say no signs of foul play in Shane Warne's death, but will question 3 of deceased associates

The untimely and shocking death of the spin legend Shane Warne has sent schockwaves through the cricketing fraternity leaving everyone mourning and grieving. Warne, one of the all-time greats of the game, died at the age of 52 due to a suspected heart attack in Thailand on Friday (March 4). But the entire world wants to know the reason behind their star's death. In the recent development on the case, the Thailand Police after a brief search at the residence have confirmed that there is no as such suspected foul play at Warne's villa following his demise. He was at a villa in Koh Samui on the Thai island, where he was found unresponsive.

In the recent development on the case, the Thailand Police after a brief search at the residence have confirmed that there is no as such suspected foul play at Warne's villa following his demise. He was at a villa in Koh Samui on the Thai island, where he was found unresponsive.


Warne was found unconscious by three of his friends, who were staying in the same villa. While they tried to revive him, they were unsuccessful. He was immediately taken to a hospital by ambulance. Still, the medical personnel too failed to revive him, while he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, confirmed Bo Put police's Chatchawin Nakmusik, as per Reuters.


The officer has also confirmed that Warne's body has been transferred to another hospital. An autopsy would be performed upon him, while his associates would be questioned on Saturday (March 5). However, as things stand, his death seems to be a natural one for now.


"Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course," his management company's statement read. 


The spin wizard was on a fitness journey 'Operation shred'. Warne had recently revealed his plans that he wished to accomplish by July. 


A few days ago, Warne had posted on Twitter: Operation shred has started (10 days in) & the goal by July is to get back to this shape from a few years ago ! Let’s go...#heathy #fitness #feelgood."


Warne was named as one of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Century, claimed 708 Test wickets in a 15-year career between 1992 and 2007. He was also a World Cup winner with Australia in 1999.

Shane Warne Cricket Records: Warne overall played 145 Tests and 194 ODIs between 1992 and 2007 and took a combined 1001 wickets during his storied international career.
